The Hess property was staked by Anthill Resources Ltd. in 2010 to cover ground prospective for mineralization related to a felsic intrusion in the northern property area. Work by Anthill Resources Ltd. consisted of minor rock and silt geochemical sampling by CME Consultants Inc. in 2011 (CME, 2011) and an intensive property wide program of reconnaissance soil geochemical sampling, with limited silt and rock sampling in 2012 (Schulze, 2013).
Six intrusion related lode style lead-zinc-silver ±gold targets were identified for follow up (Figure 2). The highest priority targets consisted of an intrusive stock and proximal country rock (Target 1), and a linear coincident lead-silver-arsenic-copper-zinc ±gold soil anomaly extending southeast from the stock (Target 2). Maximum results from soils were 283 ppb Au, 8.4 ppm Ag, 2790 ppm As, 13 ppm Sb, 626 ppm Pb, 839 ppm Zn and 190 ppm Cu. Significant gold in silt values were obtained from Lance Creek with a maximum of 193 ppb Au. Significant rock sample results include 432 ppm Ag with 0.38 g/t Au, 1.29% Pb and 3.77% Zn from Target 1, 607 ppm As from Target 2, 18.5 g/t Ag with 2.04% Pb from Target 3 and 2120 ppm Cu from Target 5.
The Lance property of Archer-Cathro and Associates (1981) Limited adjoins the Hess property to the north and covers part of the Lance stock of the Tombstone plutonic suite. The Pebble Minfile occurrence, consisting of galena-bearing quartz vein float, occurs in a small north flowing stream on the property, but follow up did not identify a source (Coates, 1968). Gossans were observed on, and the Shadow fault zone (identified on the Hess property) continues onto, the Lance property (Figure 2).
The Hess property also adjoins Goldstrike Resources Ltd.'s Plateau North Project, which covers the 2 km long northerly trending Gold Rush zone with maximum values of 26.82 g/t Au in soil and 8.99 g/t Au in rock, with anomalous arsenic and antimony (Goldstrike website, August, 2013). The zone is associated with strong silica flooding and quartz stringers within northerly trending thrust faults along a 1.5-3 km by 12 km northeast trend (Gold Rush trend) (Goldstrike website, August, 2013).
Recent drilling on Goldstrike's Plateau South Project, 15 km southwest of Plateau North, intersected 2.3 g/t Au over 53m, including 10.9 g/t Au over 10m at the Goldstack zone and 7.6 g/t Au over 9m at the VG zone (Goldstrike website, September, 2013). Mineralization consists of arsenopyrite, pyrite and visible gold in quartz ±sericite altered felsic metavolcanic rocks (with hydrothermal breccias also evident at Goldstack) associated with regional southeast plunging fold axes outboard of Cretaceous Tombstone intrusions. The deposit type has been characterized as an orogenic gold vein system.
